Following the receipt of a small grant from Euro-Mediterranean Foundation of Support to Human Rights Defenders (EMHRF) in 2019, LCDHR designed and implemented the “Constructive Reporting on Migration in Libya” project. Fifteen Libyan journalists were trained to cover migration issues in a positive and constructive manner to balance the negative narrative existing in Libya and the region.
The training focussed on producing in-depth reports to stimulate public discourse and raise awareness about appreciating migrants’ positive and valuable contributions to society.
Many topics were discussed in the workshops which included legal rights, protection, and dignity of vulnerable groups like migrants, refugees and IDPs.
